A program of choral music to inspire the soul!

Featured will be the J.S. Bach Motet "Singet" for double choir and continuo conducted by Wayne Hatwich.

Other compositions include Sweelinck's "Gaudete Omnes" , Randall Thompson's "Alleluia" and "Ye Shall Have a Song", Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" and "Sure on This Shining Night" and the "Lux Aurumque" by Eric Whitacre.

Two lighter pieces will also be on the program: "What a Wonderful World" and "Shall We Gather at the River". All of compositions with the exception of "Sure on This Shining Night" will be sung a cappella.

The program will include two works by Robert Schumann to commemorate his 200th birthday (born in 1810)and the "Reincarnations" by Samuel Barber in remembrance of his 100th birthday (born 1910).

Other music to be performed include James Mulholland's setting of three poems by Emily Dickinson for treble voices, "Go, Lovely Rose" by Eric Whitacre, the Award winning "At the Round Earth's Imagined Corners" by Williametta Spencer, David Dickau's setting of e.e. cummings' poem "I Carry Your Heart With Me" for male voices as well as other compositions and folk song settings. Assisting the choir will be Becky Asher, French horn and Trish Rooney, piano.

An evening of choral music featuring Eric Whitacre's "Animal Crackers" set to the poetry of Ogden Nash as well as compositions by Kesselman, Sondheim, Harris and Bernstein and arrangements by Wilberg, Rathbone and Marvin. Performing with the choir will be Trish Rooney and Jean Anderson, pianists; Anton Hatwich, bass and Ed Pawelski, percussion.
